There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great conpany of the heavenly host appeard with the angel, praising God and saying,

"Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." Luke2:8-14

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders.  And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."  Isaiah 9:6

Christmas is coming. What is Christmas? The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ birth.

Jesus came to earth to save sinners from our sins. That was the gift God gave everyone of us for free. What is our part? Just to believe and receive — to believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and receive Him into our hearts.

Christmas in much of the world has become commercialized. We buy and sell presents — we have Christmas trees, Christmas light. In the midst of these, let us not lose our focus on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Jesus came to earth in Bethlehem in Israel over 2,000 years ago. He was born in a stable to the Virgin Mary. He was not rich or famous when He was born; He was the Lord of the universe yet. He came to live humbly among us.

Let us worship Him and give Him our praise and love this Christmas.

Christmas is coming. The night that Jesus Christ was born, angels sang "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests".

The angels appeared to shepherds. Shepherds were among the poor of society -- they watched sheep and were out in the fields at night, not in their homes. But the shepherds had faith in God. The Bible says:

"When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, 'Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.' So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger."

The baby Jesus was born over 2,000 years ago -- but the great news is He is alive today! He is alive in heaven, where He is with God His Father -- and He is alive on earth in the hearts of all those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior. Our time on this earth is very short -- but soon we will see Jesus in heaven, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Let us worship Him this Christmas.

When Christ came to be born on earth, people had a simple choice — would they believe in Him as Savior? Would they receive Him into their lives? Would they welcome Him?

Our choice is the same today.  Let us celebrate the birth of Christ into the world — and into our hearts.

Christmas is coming.  Christmas is Christmas not because of Santa, not because of Christmas Tree, not because of trip, not because of Boxing Day. Christmas is Christmas only because of a baby who was born for us, which is a gift God gave us every year, and He is accepted into our hearts.

What is your gift to others this Christmas? What is the gift you received? My heart is full of joy and peace, because I have this eternal gift in my heart. Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you – that is Jesus Christ – the best gift for each of us.
